Tacoma Power Aid
Associated Ministries manages Tacoma Power's New Energy Assistance Program
Single individuals and families who are customers of Tacoma Public Utilities may be eligible to receive energy assistance through Associated Ministries' Project Interdependence Program. Eligibility guidelines are as follows:
- 1. Must be a customer of Tacoma Public Utilities
- 2. Have household income between 126%-200% of the FPG income requirements (listed below)
- 3. Customers must provide one month's worth of the most current pay stubs
- 4. Picture identification
- 5. Utility bill (bill must be in the individual's name seeking assistance
- 6. Copy of Social Security card for each member of household
Individuals are limited to assistance once in a twelve month period. Payments will be $150 per household. Assistance will pay for electrical charges, reconnect charges, and late charges; fund does not cover meter tampering charges. Individuals who have already received utility assistance from Family Needs or LIHEAP funds in the last 12 mo. do not qualify for the Tacoma Power Aid grant.
