Position Listing for Executive Director

As of October 24th the Board of Directors of Associated Ministries is officially beginning its search for a replacement for Rev. David T. Alger, Executive Director of our agency since January 1, 1980.

Interested candidates are encouraged to carefully review our web site, but are not encouraged to make direct calls to the agency. The application includes the following that may be submitted by email or by hard copy.  Incomplete applications will not be considered. The application process closes January 15th, 2009 at 5:00 pm. To be considered, applications must be in the office at that time. It is our hope that we can complete this process and have the new Executive Director in place by the summer of 2009.

Compensation Package

- Salary/Housing: $75,000 - $80,000

- Pension: 12% of salary (can use denominational plan)

- Medical: denominational plan up to 19%

- Continuing Education.: Two weeks/year plus appropriate conferences

- Vacation: Four weeks per year

- Holidays: Generous number plus one personal day

Key Components of the Position

We are seeking a Christian leader with a strong commitment to building and maintaining ecumenical and interfaith alliances. This individual is responsible for vision development and implementation with the Board and staff. He/she will actively collaborate with local churches, ecumenical groups and interfaith agencies that reflect the diverse constituency of our county.

The E.D. is responsible for providing a pastoral presence, representing the greater religious community in civic affairs...

He/she will work with the staff to develop programs that reflect the organization's mission and policies.

The E.D. is also responsible in collaboration with the Board, for giving oversight to the fiscal development and management of the agency.

It is required that individuals applying for this position have five years plus in nonprofit leadership or in related ecumenical or interfaith leadership. Parish and/or denominational work may also meet the requirements.

A M. Div. or similar degree, or equivalent work experience is required. Clergy preferred.
