Associated Ministries welcomes new director of finance
Molly is a Certified Public Accountant with more than 30 years experience in financial management and has been a Certified Credit Compliance Professional (for low income housing tax credit compliance). She held previous positions with Common Ground, a Seattle-based, not-for-profit, affordable housing developer; Holden Village, an ecumenical retreat center located in the North Cascades; and Moss Adams, where she was a partner in the Yakima office and led the firm’s specialized practice in retirement plans. Tacoma has been home for Molly and her partner, Harry, for five years. She serves on the boards of three organizations: the Tacoma Food Co-op, working to establish a community-owned cooperative grocery in Tacoma; the Grunewald Guild, a retreat center for the exploration of art and faith; and the Tacoma Pierce County Affordable Housing Consortium. Molly enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, walking with their dog, and a good game of cards. The Presbytery of Olympia seeks a part-time secretaryThe Presbytery of Olympia, a governing body for the Presbyterian Church USA, is seeking a part-time temporary office secretary/receptionist to perform general office support. This is a temporary, 15 hour a week position. Work days are Tuesday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The position begins June 1 and ends August 25. Candidates must be well versed in general secretarial, book- keeping and computer skills. The pay is $10 per hour. We are located in Lakewood, WA. Become a senior companion volunteer!If you want to share your experience and compassion with isolated seniors or adults with disabilities, you have what it takes to be a Senior Companion. Volunteer in an adult day setting or in a client's home. Services may include companionship, encouraging socialization, escorts to medical appointments, and/or caregiver respite. Opportunities are available in Pierce and Kitsap counties. Senior Companions are 55 or better, low-income, in good health, and serve at least 15 hours per week. Eligible volunteers receive a tax-free hourly stipend, meal and transportation reimbursement, orientation and training, and supplemental accident and liability insurance. Giving back helps you too. Studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and experience greater life satisfaction.
